Personal Quotes
The songwriters decided to give Link a cool, upbeat, Elvis-style number, and it's the perfect time for it in the movie. 'Ladies Choice' establishes the connection between Tracy and Link. And it's the kind of number you need in a sixties musical: the rock 'n' roll band at the record hop, with bright colors and backup dancers.

If I had to hear the High School Musical (2006) (TV) songs anymore, I would have jumped off of something really tall. [on why he chose not to do the High School Musical Tour.]

The number one question I've been asked [for his movie 17 Again] is, 'If you could go back, would you change anything? If you could be 17 all over again, what would you do different? Would you go down this road?' I'm like, absolutely. This is like the best job in the world. I'm having the time of my life... It's always fun. It's always interesting. It's always a challenge. I'm very happy with that and I'm very happy with my life right now.

You know what, I do not want to fall victim to partying too hard, it's too easy and too often done. It's out of style anyway, I think too many people have done it before me, I'm not going to. It's uncool, yeah. I think the rebellious thing to do would to actually be successful.

On why he chose 17 Again: Everything else that was around was either a musical or a high school romance, you know, and this was actually the biggest risk and the biggest challenge. I can relate to playing a kid - I've had a first kiss, I've had awkward dates, I've had fights with my parents... But one thing I've never done is gotten into a fight with my teenage daughter.

In the back of my mind, I can never forget this could be gone tomorrow - and at this point I think the odds are against me... the chances of succeeding in this business are slim to none; there's only a handful of people that have long careers. You have to put in the work, you can never be satisfied, never take it for granted.

There are so many things you can do with a hand.

I'm not really into partying. Don't get me wrong - I've gone to a club. But I'd much rather be with my close friends at home or a concert, or on a trip. I'll go dancing with my grandma. She likes to cut a rug!

I'm definitely not getting married. In this business, you're either getting married or they want you to be pregnant. I'm not getting married until I'm forty. If ever.

I like my women like I like my peanut butter: chunky.

No Twitter, no Facebook, no MySpace - nothing. So if you have me, it's a poser, don't talk to them. [on what social networks he doesn't use]

[on Claire Danes] I was intimidated, even just the name Claire Danes carries such weight with it. I needed to be a worthy love interest in the film and I didn't know that I had any of the qualities necessary to woo a girl like her... Claire and I were trapped on an island together with nowhere to go for four weeks, like a reality show. My character was supposed to fall in love, but she was also supposed to be out of his league. After meeting Claire, that was definitely the way it was supposed to be.

And man, you should see the faces on the kids. It's priceless, and I don't look down on, or think badly about, the High School Musical films. I have no regrets at all. I'm extremely proud of those movies, and will be forever.

(On being famous) It's weird, but I don't feel like think I deserve any of the attention. There's really nothing but one audition for a Disney Channel movie that separates me from 2,000 other brown-haired, blue-eyed guys in L.A., you know?

SAM WORTHINGTON

Posted on 16:37 by Unknown

Date of Birth
2 August 1976, Godalming, Surrey, England, UK

Birth Name
Samuel Henry J. Worthington

Height
5' 10" (1.78 m)

Mini Biography
Sam Worthington was born on August 2, 1976 in Surrey, England. His parents, Jeanne and Ronald Worthington, moved the family to Australia when he was six months old, and raised him and his sister Lucinda in Warnbro, a suburb of Perth, Western Australia.

Worthington graduated from NIDA (Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art) in 1998 at the age of 22. He received critical acclaim for his portrayal of "Arthur Wellesley" in his first professional role in the Belvoir Street Theatre production "Judas Kiss" (directed by Neil Armfield). He then went on to work in Australian television on such shows as "Water Rats" (1996) and "Backburner" and then on the American TV show "JAG" (1995)'s 100th episode (Boomerang: Part 1).

Worthington made his film debut in the highly acclaimed Australian movie Bootmen (2000), a film about a troop of "tap dogs". Minor roles proceeded in Hart's War (2002) and A Matter of Life (2001) before he was cast in another hailed Australian drama, Dirty Deeds (2002), co-starring Toni Collette and John Goodman.

The following year, he starred in yet another Aussie film, opposite David Wenham in Gettin' Square (2003). The director of the film, Jonathan Teplitzky, originally tested actors who were up to 8 years older than the then-27-year-old Worthington. Teplitzky wasn't sure Sam "could convincingly play a tough guy and also have elements of the leading man about him", but in the end Teplitzky decided he was "fantastic", and had "David playing the older, slightly more streetwise accomplice" proclaiming "it worked".

But it wasn't until 2004 that Sam got his big break. He was offered the starring role in Cate Shortland's acclaimed Australian drama Somersault (2004), opposite Abbie Cornish. The film made a clean sweep of the Australian Film Institute awards in 2004, winning in 13 film categories - the first time this has ever occurred in the award's history. Worthington also won the AFI award for Best Male Actor.

Worthington's career took off internationally when he was cast as Jake Sully in James Cameron's Avatar (2009) and as Marcus Wright, a cyborg who assists the humans despite their suspicions of him in Terminator Salvation (2009). Worthington soon became a household name, and starring in high profile films Clash of the Titans (2010), The Debt (2010/I), Texas Killing Fields (2011), Man on a Ledge (2012), and Wrath of the Titans (2012). Worthington also provided the voice for the Call of Duty: Black Ops video games.

In 2010, Worthington started a production company, Full Clip Productions, with two of his close friends John Schwarz and Michael Schwarz. The company teamed with Radical studios to print two graphic novels Damaged and Patriots.

Personal Quotes
I also care that the public are getting their 12 dollars' worth when they go to a movie, and that they're not coming out not wanting to ever see a movie with me in it again. I don't care what people think of me as a person, but I do care what people think of my work, and whether I'm investing enough into it. [Empire magazine, October 2006].

A mate of mine told me recently, 'It's the first time I've seen you work, Worthington.' I thought that was quite funny, but he was right. [Empire magazine, October 2006]

[on Avatar (2009)] It's gotta hell of a lotta hype, I read all what was said yesterday about the trailer. I can see their point, but as I said, it's not meant to be built for an Apple Mac, it's built for IMAX, it's built for 3D, that's what he's designed it for. He's designed it to bring people back to the cinema. It's interesting that he's released that trailer and the next day, he shows it on IMAX. It's one extreme to the other. We get the criticism and then we get the rave reviews of what it really looks like in its own formula. That's obviously going to get people to think and go, "Damn right! I'm going to go and see this at the cinema". Jim has always said to me that he wants to bring people back to the movies, and he's a smart enough man for that to be tactical.

[on his role in Clash of the Titans (2010)] Oh I want to do it exactly the same. That guy's gonna come after me... no, I had a take on Perseus that I said to Louie and he went with it and the studio kind of liked my take, and we'll see if it works.

[on the Terminator Franchise] Well, I reacquainted myself with the movies, obviously, before we started, but I would have been actually 15 or something when Terminator 2 came out. So you remember the liquid man, of course, and that was revolutionary for this time, going through the helicopter and all that. But I think what they do is they showcase how good a storyteller Jim is.

I didn't set out to be famous; if I'd wanted that, I would have gone on Big Brother.

[on accepting the role of a conflicted man in Last Night (2010/I)] There was things in it that I've kind of done. I've been every single one of these people. So I kind of went 'Count me in'. I've been cheated on, I've been tempted. I've lost love. I've tried to reclaim a lost love and didn't know how to do it. I've been every single one of them, yeah.

[on refusing to discuss injuries he sustained making Wrath of the Titans (2012)] I don't like talking about that. I've got mates who play rugby and they think I'm a pussy actor.

JOHN CENA

Date of Birth
23 April 1977, West Newbury, Massachusetts, USA

Birth Name
John Felix Anthony Cena

Nickname
Prototype
Dr. of Thuganomics
The Franchise
The Marine
The Champ
Chain Gang
Super Cena

Height
6' 1" (1.85 m)

Mini Biography
John Felix Anthony Cena or better known as John Cena, the WWE superstar was born on April 23rd, 1977 in West Newbury, Massachusetts. When he was in college, he played football. He then continued on to be a bodybuilder and a limousine driver. The 6-foot-1 tall star weighs exactly at 240 pounds and is a very successful superstar in the WWE.

The Dr. of Thuganomics started training to be a wrestler at Ultimate Pro Wrestling where he also created the character, The Prototype. Cena fist appeared on WWE in a match against Kurt Angle on the 27th of June, 2002 which ended up with him losing.

In 2004, John Cena's status as a celebrity began to develop. Cena won the United States Championship from Big Show. Not too long later, Cena lost the title but he gained it back soon. Cena then lost the title again to fellow WWE superstar, Carlito. During that time, Cena apparently got stabbed in the kidney by one of Carlito's bodyguard. This resulted him to stay out of action for a month.

In 2005 and 2006 respectively, Cena has made a few controversies. He had a feud with champion John Bradshaw Layfield, manager Eric Bischoff and fellow wrestler Chris Jericho. Cena also made feuds with Edge and Umaga at that time. But even so, some friendships were formed. Cena is said to be friends with Carlito after they won a match with Jeff Hardy against Edge, Randy Orton and Johnny Nitro.

The year 2007 became a big year for Cena as he got involved in a wrestling match with Britney Spears' ex and rap star, Kevin Federline. John ended up losing that match thanks to some assistance from Umaga to Kevin Federline. Later that night, Cena took revenge by body slamming Kevin Federline backstage. The year 2007 also started pretty well for John Cena as he became the first person to defeat the Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga that year. The Chain Gang Soldier also teamed up with Shaun Michaels defeating the RKO tag team, Randy Orton and Edge. The match ended up with Cena and Michaels winning.

As of October 2007, Cena lost his WWE Championship title because of an injury. While wrestling against Mr. Kennedy, Cena tore his pectoral muscle while executing a hip toss. Eventhough he finished the match and completed the rest of the scripted event, check up the next day found out that John's pectoral major muscle was torn completely from the bone, requiring seven months to a year rehabilitation. Because of not being able to perform, WWE's CEO, Vince McMahon stripped him off the title and ended his reign.

In the year 2008, Cena made an unannounced return to action on January 27 as the final participant of the Royal Rumble match. He won the match, and the traditional WrestleMania title shot. Cena also had a match against JBL, which he defeated at Judgment Day and then at One Night Stand in a First Blood match. However, JBL defeated him at the New York City Parking Lot Brawl. In the month of August, Cena had to replaced by Rey Mysterio after it was announced Cena had suffered a herniated disk in his neck which will require surgery and he will be out of action indefinitely. According to reports, Cena underwent successive surgery to repair the herniated disk in his neck with Doctor Joseph Maroon on August 25.

Aside from wrestling, John has also made his own name in the movie business. In 2006, a WWE franchise movie titled The Marine was released with John playing the lead character, John Triton. The movie received mix reviews due to the poor storyline and discrimination to the US Marines. Even so, fans queued up to watch the movie as this was John's first big screen appearance.

The WWE wrestler also adds recording artist to his resume as he released his debut rap album "You Can't See Me" which debuted at #15 on the US Billboard 200 chart. The album was recorded with his cousin Tha Trademarc. The album features his entrance theme song, 'The Time Is Now' & a host of other singles performed by Cena & one the songs he performed with popular rap band Estoric & a number of other songs Cena performed with famous rapper Bumpy Knuckles. Cena is the only professional wrestler to ever perform on BBC Two's long running TV show Top of the Pops.

While still being active with WWE, Cena made a couple of guest appearances Jimmy Kimmel Live! twice to promote his album. He has also appeared on popular shows like Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Fuse's Celebrity Playlist, Fox Sports Net's The Best Damn Sports Show Period, MADtv, G4's Training Camp and two appearances on MTV's Punk'd. He also served as a co-presenter, with Hulk Hogan, at the 2005 Teen Choice Awards, as a guest judge during the third week of the 2006 season of Nashville Star, and appeared at the 2007 Nickelodeon UK Kids Choice Awards 2007.

In fashion, The Champ has also made a few trademarks. Cena is often seen with knee-high denim jeans and throwback jerseys when he first started on WWE. Lately, Cena has been wearing a lot of Chain Gang merchandise. When his movie, The Marine was released, John was seen to be adding more military-inspired clothing to his outfit to promote his movie.

Cena graduated from Springfield College, Massachusetts with degrees in exercise physiology and human anatomy. He applied for 60 colleges and he got accepted by 58 of them but in the end, he chose Springfield College. He is the second eldest of five brothers and is said to be a family guy when he is not wrestling. His good friends are fellow wrestlers, John Hennigan, Batista, Randy Orton, Carlito, Jeff and Matt Hardy among whom he will have to fight with.

John Cena is definitely going to be a big inspiration to all whether in wrestling, fashion, music or even movies as his participation in the industry is already more than regular celebrity. With all he has achieved, fans can definitely expect to see more of this WWE superstar in the coming future.

Also recently he has completed his new movie 12 Rounds produced by WWE Films. This movie was said to be completed when John suffered from his injury in 2007.

Personal Quotes
You know, all that really matters is that the people you love are happy and healthy. Everything else is just sprinkles on the sundae. - in Flaunt Magazine, July 2001.

Some people say that you should go to all the parties, to the nightclubs, the Viper Room, and make contacts, and I look at them and say, 'You don't want to have contacts with those people.' Look at what happened to River Phoenix (who died in 1993 of a drug overdose outside the Viper Room). If you get caught up in that, it ruins you. Hollywood is garbage.

Surfing soothes me, it's always been a kind of zen experience for me. The ocean is so magnificent, peaceful, and awesome. The rest of the world disappears for me when I'm on a wave.

I'm into being a dad, that's where my focus is most of the time. I'm an actor that's my job, but it's not my life. I have a lot of other interests too.

I'm a dreamer. I've got this whole thing where I think I'm supposed to be a musician. I live by the seat of my pants, but I'd like to think that I'm also pretty sensible.

I want to get married. I think about it a lot. But I also think about my cars, so maybe my priorities aren't exactly in line just yet.

Life's too short. And the biggest curse is falling in love with somebody.

I'm much more likely to give myself a kick in the butt than a pat on the back.

I like low maintenance, natural, outdoor, shy girls.

I'm a Christian now. The things that drove me crazy growing up was how everyone works at fault-finding with different religions. The people I don't understand are atheists. I go surfing and snow boarding and I'm always around nature. I look at everything and think, 'Who couldn't believe there's a God? Is all this a mistake?' It just blows me away.

(2010) I'm passionate about animals and I hunt too. It's like I save and I kill. I'm a walking, talking contradiction. I'm all about preserving the environment but I'm racing cars on the weekend. I tell everyone I'm a gun-loving hippy.

Mini Biography
A long road traveled; from a waiter in Bangkok, to one of the most successful actors in Bollywood, Akshay Kumar has come a long way. As an instructor in martial artist, Rajiv Bhatia always dreamt of making it big in that field but when a student suggested that with his good looks and a good built, he should take up modelling, the anonymous Rajiv Bhatia began his journey as Akshay Kumar who then slowly but surely worked his way up to becoming one of the most talented stars of the industry. Stunned at the pay package and his success as a model, Akshay took the next obvious step, and entered into films. However unlike most of the other stars in his time, Akshay neither had star parents, nor a godfather to launch him. Although his first few films were unsuccessful at the box office, they helped Akshay get noticed for his dancing abilities and his dare-devilish stunts. His first true hit film was 'Khiladi' and although it was a success, the top banners continued to be elusive until 'Yeh Dillagi' which not only got him recognition but marked his position as a top league actor. Though 'Jai Kishen' and 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' were quite successful at the box office, it was 'Mohra' and 'Sabse Bada Khiladi' that it catapulted Akshay to fame and established his position as one of the top most heroes of the industry. With a series of 'Khiladi' movies including the "Khiladiyon Ke Khiladi', Akshay became the quintessential "action hero'. But with 'Mr. & Mrs. Khiladi', 'Dil To Pagal Hai' and 'Aflatoon', he attempted new genres in order to change his stereotypical image, and he was quite successful at it. Another attempt at a new role with 'Ajnabee', where he played the villain, was again well portrayed and well received by audiences and critics alike. 'Dhadkan', where he starred opposite Shilpa Shetty reaffirmed the fact that aside from being an action hero, Akshay Kumar was also the perfect romantic lead. In the same year came another memorable performance with the film "Hera Pheri' which brought to the forefront his strength in comedy and superb timing as he held his ground with the seasoned Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty. Akshay Kumar continued to improve with every film, from "Khakee, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi', "Aitraaz, Waqt', 'Awara Pagaal Deewana', "Garam Masala' to the recently released "Phir Hera Phiri' proved that Akshay was a sure-fire hit at the box-office as well. Today he is one of the most sought after actors who commands a strong box-office opening. His forthcoming films include Jaaneman, Saamna, London Namaste and Welcome.

Eldest of three sons born to Ray and Wilma Norris. Chuck's brothers are Wieland Norris (born July 12, 1943; KIA in Vietnam, 1970) and Aaron Norris. Aaron is the youngest of the trio, the proverbial "runt of the litter."

Father of Mike Norris and Eric Norris, the latter of whom is a professional stock car driver. Chuck also has a daughter named Dina, born in 1964. Diane Holechek is the mother of Chuck's aforementioned kids; of those three, Dina is the only one not mentioned in Chuck's 1980's autobiography, "The Secret Of Inner Strength: My Story". More recently, Chuck and Gena O'Kelly (his second wife) welcomed opposite-sex twins Dakota Alan (the boy) and Danilee Kelly (the girl). The twins' birthday is August 30, 2001.

Often trained with Bruce Lee.

6-time World Karate Champion; among those he faced for this title are fellow actors Joe Lewis and Steve Sanders.

He was the karate teacher of father-son actors Steve McQueen and Chad McQueen. The elder McQueen encouraged Norris to pursue a career in movies and television; allegedly, he told Chuck: "If you can't do anything else, there's always acting."

12/12/01: Received "Veteran of the Year 2001" honor at the 6th Annual American Veteran Awards.

In the movies where he's a police officer, Norris usually prefers to work alone (i.e. Lone Wolf McQuade (1983), Code of Silence (1985) and Top Dog (1995)).

Has 3 grandchildren by son Eric Norris; these include fellow actress Gabby Di Ciolli.

He has founded two of his own martial arts: Chun Kuk Do ("the Universal Way") and American Tang Soo Do.

He is the Founder of the National Tang-Soo-Do Congress (NTC) and the United Fighting Arts Federation (UFAF). Chuck is also President of the latter.

He has a 10th degree black belt in Tang Soo Do, and also an 8th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do...that is, the Korean (or traditional) styles of each.

His father Ray was killed in a car accident, shortly after cancer surgery. Part of Ray's throat and chin were removed; a tube was inserted in his trachea to help him breathe. Ray was thrown out of his car in the wreck, and the tube came out. Ray suffocated on the ground because no one at the accident site was aware of the tube.

His voice and drama coach was Jonathan Harris, of "Lost in Space" (1965) fame. Harris "taught him how to speak," by putting his fingers in Norris's mouth, and stretching the mouth wide open. Chuck names Jonathan as the only man in the world who could get away with doing that to him... which Harris was always proud of.

It is commonly believed that he was offered the role of "Sensei Jon Kreese" in the original The Karate Kid (1984). He reportedly turned it down, claiming he did not want his name connected with such a brutal and vicious character. This is, in fact, an urban legend; Norris himself has disputed it. While appearing on the February 9, 2006 episode of the radio show hosted by Adam Carolla, Norris stated that he was never offered the role at all.

Despite their vast political differences, he is friends with actress and comedienne Whoopi Goldberg. He was so impressed with a performance of hers that he tried, unsuccessfully, to get her a role in his film Invasion U.S.A. (1985).

Reader's Digest once noted a story of how Norris, true to his characters, prefers to find a non-violent way to solve a situation. Norris was in a bar once when a customer walked in and said to him, "You're in my seat. Move." Norris complied, and as the customer sat down, he recognized Norris. He then said, "Chuck, you could've kicked my butt if you wanted to. Instead of moving, why didn't you just attack me?" Norris' response: "What would that have accomplished?" Norris later said the experience resulted in him getting a new admirer and a new friend.

Is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under the Machado Brothers.

As a child, his idol and favorite actor was John Wayne. Indeed, their on screen personas bear much in common. He is a staunch supporter of the Republican Party.

Is an NRA member.

Is a close friend of legendary writer and director John Milius, who was an uncredited co-screenwriter of Norris's movie Lone Wolf McQuade (1983). Milius credits this film, in part with inspiring him to craft the similar Extreme Prejudice (1987), four years later.

Enjoys playing golf and participates in many celebrity golfing events.

A website known as "Chuck Norris Facts" has been created as a parody of his career. Chuck is not offended by the website, in fact, has said he feels honored to have a website named after him and says he laughs when he reads the facts.

Personal Quotes
Whatever luck I had, I made. I was never a natural athlete, but I paid my dues in sweat and concentration and took the time necessary to learn karate and become world champion.

It's the bullies who are afraid, are the ones that do all the fighting. It's not the secure kids that get out there and fight. It's the insecure kids. And when you develop that security in these youngsters and all of a sudden they have no reason to fight . . . This is to me the most gratifying thing I've ever been able to do.

Today, more than ever, the inspiration for the parts I play is found in you - our nation's men and women in uniform and the selfless contributions you make on a daily basis to keep our country safe and free. I salute you.

I haven't always been warmly welcomed for holding my conservative positions in Hollywood. Then again, I've never been very good at being politically correct either, on or off screen. So why start now?

For too many years I was in rebellion to God. Now I'm a rebel with a cause for God and for grassroots America. I no longer fit the mold. I'm not a liberal actor from Hollywood. I'm not politically correct, in my opinions or my practice. And though I'm concerned with what people think, I will not compromise the truth in any form to cater to others, even with religion and politics. Those who would merely brand me on the Right are oversimplifying and running from the real issue.

Alleged Chuck Norris Fact: "There is no theory of evolution. Just a list of creatures Chuck Norris has allowed to live." It's funny. It's cute. But here's what I really think about the theory of evolution: It's not real. It is not the way we got here. In fact, the life you see on this planet is really just a list of creatures God has allowed to live. We are not creations of random chance. We are not accidents. There is a God, a Creator, who made you and me. We were made in His image, which separates us from all other creatures.

Alleged Chuck Norris Fact: "Faster than a speeding bullet ... more powerful than a locomotive ... able to leap tall buildings in a single bound... yes, these are some of Chuck Norris' warm-up exercises." I've got a bulletin for you, folks. I am no superman. I realize that now, but I didn't always. As six-time world karate champion and then a movie star, I put too much trust in who I was, what I could do and what I acquired. I forgot how much I needed others and especially God. Whether we are famous or not, we all need God. We also need other people.

Alleged Chuck Norris Fact: "Chuck Norris' tears can cure cancer. Too bad he never cries. Ever." There was a man whose tears could cure cancer or any other disease, including the real cause of all diseases - sin. His blood did. His name was Jesus, not Chuck Norris. If your soul needs healing, the prescription you need is not Chuck Norris' tears, it's Jesus' blood.

[on Bruce Lee] Bruce Lee had bad eyesight and one leg that was shorter than the other. But he had a mental image of what he wanted, and he became the quintessential martial artist and the first Chinese superstar in American films.

There are a dozen death spots, another dozen paralyzing death spots, and many, many disabling spots on the body. We human beings are quite fragile, you know.

After years of learning to control my emotions in karate, I found it very difficult to reverse that process and fully express them. But I learn from my mistakes and develop more as an actor with each film role.

I don't initiate violence, I retaliate.

There has always been violence on the screen, and certain groups claim that some antisocial behavior can be traced to these violent films. I believe that's hogwash. The violence on television news programs is much more harmful because it's real. We all have the potential to be violent, but we must learn to control these impulses.

Any GOP candidate can be dissected to a point that he is railed for having liberal tendencies. Former New York Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani has waffled enough around his pro-abortion, pro-gay, pro-gun control views to recruit many Democratic supporters. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has flip-flopped so many times on issues of abortion, immigration and gay rights to make one wonder for what party he's running. Texas Representative Ron Paul's bent toward being an isolationist who wants to bring home every one of our 572,000 troops abroad makes the anti-terror, pro-military hairs on the back of my neck stand. Though Senator John McCain of Arizona is a friend and a true, decorated hero who I personally think would make an excellent vice president for Mike, he opposed the Bush tax cuts and co-authored legislation for comprehensive immigration reform that some believe jeopardizes national security and American sovereignty. And while former Tennessee Senator Fred Dalton Thompson is also a friend, his record of consistently voting against tort reform, opposing the impeachment of Bill Clinton on perjury, supporting opponents of Ronald Reagan [Gerald Ford and James Baker III] in 1976 and 1980, and failing to support federal constitutional amendments that would ban abortion and gay marriage doesn't exactly make him "the only true conservative." To be fair, even if Reagan himself were running today, he likely couldn't dodge liberal labeling, especially for his signing of the Immigration Control and Reform Act of 1986, which granted amnesty to aliens who resided in the U.S. since before 1982.

[on Sen. John McCain] If John takes over the presidency at seventy-two and he ages 3-to-1, how old will he be in four years? Eighty-four years old--and can he handle that kind of pressure in that job? That's why I didn't pick John to support, because I'm just afraid the Vice President will wind up taking over his job within that four-year presidency.

I've known John McCain for over twenty years. He's a man of integrity, but a lot of his social issues, I didn't lean toward. I'm not a Republican or Democrat. I'm conservative. Now that John has brought someone like Sarah Palin on the ticket, it makes me more confident that they could do a tremendous job in the White House.

My choice would be John McCain and Sarah Palin mainly because, with Sarah, I think she'd make a good president because she's a no-nonsense gal and she has much more experience than Barack Obama. Europe now is not infatuated with Barack Obama anymore. They are infatuated with Sarah Palin.

I admire those in the recent past who were able to represent a respectful conservatism in a liberal-leaning, show-business industry: men like Charlton Heston, John Wayne, James Stewart and Ronald Reagan. And I'm grateful for others today who have also stood for conservative values, incredible actors like Jim Caviezel, Mel Gibson and Jon Voight. Jon has recently stepped up to the plate for thousands of others who can't because they'd be cast aside by casting directors if their conservatism was even made known. Jon is taking the brunt end for them from critics who have no tolerance for actors on the right. These are the type of men who will go against the grain of the Hollywood status quo. These are the type of men who get the fact that entertainment isn't about playing party politics. These are the type of men who demonstrate what my hero and the stalwart conservative John Wayne once said, "Courage is being scared to death, and saddling up anyway."

I think we're heading down the wrong direction. We need to restore patriotism as the founders meant it to be. We need to restore our sense of stability, morality and our responsibility. I think we have drifted from that. We just need to get back like our founding fathers. I do a lot of reading about our founding fathers and on our history, you know. They had a vision for America that was not corrupted by greed and power and I think unfortunately many of our politicians have fallen into that trap.

I may run for president of Texas. That need may be a reality sooner than we think. If not me, someone someday may again be running for president of the Lone Star state, if the state of the union continues to turn into the enemy of the state. Anyone who has been around Texas for any length of time knows exactly what we'd do if the going got rough in America.

With The Expendables 2 (2012), you have a lot of hard language in there that means that young people won't be able to see it. I said, I don't do movies like that. I didn't do them in the past, I didn't do them on my TV series. I said, you have to cut out all the hardcore language or I can't do it. So they did, and Expendables is now a PG-13 film so kids can see it.

IMDb Mini Biography By: gavin (gunmasterM@hotmail.com)

Mini Biography
Born to Mir Taj Muhammad Khan and Lateef Fatima in New Delhi, India, his mother always believed that her son was destined to be a great actor, often citing the resemblance between Khan and Dilip Kumar, another Bollywood legend. His name literally translates into Face of the King.

Born and brought up in Delhi, he was a brilliant student and an all-rounder. At St. Columba's School, he won the prestigious Sword of Honour. He was also the captain of his football, hockey, and cricket teams all at the same time. After sustaining a football injury, he started to consider acting as a career. He graduated with honours in economics from Hansraj College and did his master's in mass communications from Jamia Millia Islamia.

Khan then went on to study theater under the reputed Barry John, whom he credits for carving out the actor inside him, but his mentor considers his pupil as being solely responsible for his greatness and glory, citing Shahrukh to have the perfect combination of talent, perseverance, belief in yourself, a never-give-up-attitude and of course, a bit of luck--factors needed for success.

Shahrukh began his journey by landing the lead role of a commando in 1988 drama series "Fauji" (1988). He was much applauded for his work and soon became the heartthrob of teenage girls, bagging roles in other serials such as "Circus" (1989) and _"Dil Dariya" (????)_, the former was delayed because of various reasons. He also had a minor role in a made-for-television film called In Which Annie Gives It Those Ones (1989) (TV).

His big screen debut came in the form of Deewana (1992), in which he acted alongside the then-top actress of Bollywood, Divya Bharti, and won the prestigious Filmfare award for best debut actor--male. He also starred earlier in a small role in Dil Aashna Hai (...The Heart Knows) (1992). This was followed by another hit, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman (1992).

After a few more films that did average or less at the box office, Khan made the unique choice against all advice to opt for villainous roles and played obsessive, somewhat psychotic characters in Darr (1993) and Baazigar (1993). To everyone's surprise, the films were massive hits and Shahrukh earned his first best actor award, and was also nominated in the villainous role category. His acting was applauded by all in the Indian film industry and carved a niche for the future king. The same year, he bagged the Critics Award for best performance in Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1993), a film he often recalls as among his favourites.

A series of hits followed to what would be remembered as one of Khan's most iconic performances, a film that is arguably India's biggest blockbuster and truly complete with the very best of drama, comedy, romance, thrills, and a bit of action. The epic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) was released on 20th October 1995 and, as of 2011, was still showing in a Mumbai theatre, thus being the longest-running initial release in cinema history. Coincidentally, Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise was the initial choice as the main lead, but the role went to Shahrukh who is now nicknamed 'Tom Cruise of India'.

Khan has come a long way since then, with a string of hits under his belt, which include some of Bollywood's biggest in both national and international markets, namely Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... (2001), Devdas (2002/I), Swades (2004), Chak De India! (2007), Om Shanti Om (2007), My Name Is Khan (2010), Ra.One (2011), and Don 2 (2011), made him the undisputed megastar of India with a record number of best actor trophies and numerous power awards.

His fame does not stop there: following the release of his films overseas, he has been credited as the world's biggest movie star and was named among the 50 most powerful people by "Newsweek."

Even with all the success and boasting, and a statue among the elite in Madame Tussaud's, he is quoted as being one of the most humble and down-to-earth personalities, although his wit is unmatched by even the best in the business. This led to him being a host of many television programmes, game shows, and award functions, including India's version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?"

The king is an active philanthropist, funding numerous humanitarian projects and charities as well as being personally involved in them, although he prefers to keep this aspect out of the limelight.

His larger-than-life persona continues to win hearts all over the world with a fan following going into billions. He is the face of brands such as Pepsi, Tag Heuer, and he has a 8-billion-dirham property development that is comprised of multiple residential towers in the United Arab Emirates named after him called Shah Rukh Khan Boulevard. He co-owns two production houses--Dreamz Unlimited and Red Chilis Entertainment--and the IPL Cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders.

He is the recipient of the Padma Shri (India), l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (France), the Unesco Pyramide con Marni (UNESCO), l'Étoile d'Or (by the king of Morocco), and the Chubb fellowship (Yale). Khan currently resides in his palatial beachside mansion called Mannat in Mumbai, India, with his wife Gauri Khan and two children, Aryan and Suhana.

(December 2001, about Hrithik Roshan): I wish I looked as good as he does. And I wish I danced as well as he does!

Yes, I do have a close circle of friends and I am very fortunate to have them as friends. I feel very close to them I think friends are everything in life after your family. You come across lots of people all the time but you only make very few friends and you have to be true to them otherwise what's the point in life?

I'd rather sink trying to be different, than stay afloat like everyone else.

I cannot repay my fans for what they have done for me, they have given me so much love and that love has taken me to the number 1 position where I am today, the only thing I can do for my fans is to never stop working, and to do films till the very end, it is the only way I can express my love for them.

To me, Devdas is the end of love stories. I've portrayed an obsessed lover, a nice lover, an angry lover, a romantic lover. And now I've played Devdas. For someone who doesn't even like love stories, I've played an awful lot of lovers. Personally speaking, I wouldn't see any of the romantic films I've acted in.

I'm the luckiest man in the world and I don't want to hide from the faces I'm acting for. So I don't surround myself with guards, I've never given an interview in which I've said I feel bad that I can't go shopping or I can't go to Chowpatty and eat bhelpuri without being mobbed. I'm not the kind of guy who goes out wearing dark glasses (I don't think I'm a big enough star to hide behind them, honest). I go to see movies in the cinema theatres, I go to restaurants with my family and friends even though I know people are going to disturb me there.

God has become a generic term like 'mind blowing.' It is embarrassing. I would have said that to Amitabh Bachchan, Naseeruddin Shah, Nana Patekar. I used to tell them I want to stand in the same space as you. I've told Kamal Haasan and Rajesh Khanna Saab, I just want to touch you. They are the gods of acting. When people call me God, I say, no, I'm still an angel or saint of acting. I still have a long way to go. Though I cannot ever surpass these legends I would like to be next to them.

(August 2004): Awards that ignore me are losers.

(August 2004): I'm try-sexual. I try anything that's sexual.

(August 2004): I have no competition. Every year the names I'm pitted against keep changing. You can't cream the competition, you have to kill it.

I keep hearing that our films are escapist and unreal but I find our films the most real in the world. We don't have people going up in a rocket and single-handedly blowing up a meteor. We don't have a president on Air Force One saving the world or things coming out of people's stomachs. Our fantasies and escapism are real. It's just people singing and dancing in the street. If England had won the World Cup you would have seen people singing and dancing like that.

I don't like wearing dark glasses. I'm happy with the fact that people know me. I want people to scream and shout at me, I want people to trouble me when I'm having lunch, I like six bodyguards around me. I love being a star. I find it very strange when people who are famous say they don't want to be photographed. I don't want to be photographed first thing in the morning, I don't want people peeping into my bedroom, but besides that, it's a wonderful life.

"I haven't given up smoking. I'm very clear about it, it's a personal choice. I want to cut down on it. It shouldn't be made into an issue to say, damn good or damn bad. Whether I give it up or not shouldn't be an issue." (Movie Mag, May 2006)

"I was supposed to have done Rang De Basanti (2006), the guy on the motorbike. I didn't have the dates. They were shooting in Delhi and the dates were clashing with Paheli." (Movie Mag, May 2006)

"It's not like Steven Spielberg is waiting with a script for me. I don't think I'll ever be offered a great international film in my lifetime, so I'd rather be a king here. Moreover, Indian cinema is the greatest in the world. But of course, after spending three months in LA, London, and New York I found that our cinema is a little exaggerated. To make a mark in the West we have to reach their level without losing our identity, culture or songs. I don't want to star in a Hollywood film, but want to make a film that crosses over universally." (Movie Mag, May 2006)

On trying to get Paheli (2005) an Oscar nomination: "There's a misreport here about our lobbying at the Oscars. The understanding that we have of the Oscars is very different from how it really is. Because Indian film, foreign films are not known, you're supposed to hire a PR company which we did. It's not as if you just go there, show your films, lobby and talk to them. You're not allowed to lobby as in you're not allowed to meet the Academy members, talk to them or even make a call to them. You just keep advertising in the 'For Consideration For Oscars' category. We took out full page ads in papers like Variety and Hollywood Reporter. The only good thing we did was that we advertised very frequently, it was promoted on the same scale as the biggest of films. We did it because we could afford it." (Movie Mag, May 2006)

"I felt Ashoka the Great (2001) should have been chosen for the Oscars. We had worked towards that. We had these international distributors for it. We were the first to actually release an Indian film internationally in traditionally non-Indian theaters. We spent a lot of money and lost a lot of money too. We were the first to put up boardings in London, in tube stations. We did speak to everyone who was anyone here, wondering if Asoka could go to the Oscars. But the one that got chosen was Lagaan: Once Upon a Time in India (2001) which was even better. So we had no complaints. After that I didn't make any film for the foreign market." (Movie Mag, May 2006)

You must respect your seniors, bu never get intimidated by them. Winning should be a habit, not an option. The four Hs are important when you play to win --- honesty, humor, hard work and a bit of haraamipan.

I don't look at the figures that my movies make. The only figures I look at are girl's figures. (When asked to comment on what he felt about the figures his movies gross.)

Whenever I fail as a father or husband... a toy and a diamond always works.

If I talk to a girl, it's assumed that I'm having a scene with her. If I don't, then it's assumed that I'm gay.

I don't kiss on screen. Period.

There are only two Khans. Ghenghis Khan and Shahrukh Khan.

Sex is not required to sell my film. My name is enough.

You never win the silver, you only lose the gold.

I am very shy. If I am flying British Airways and the air hostess asks me two questions, and I don't understand her accent - I will go hungry for the entire flight.

The dream I chased, took me on a journey. A journey more rewarding then the goals, the achievements. When I look back it's like facing a million mirrors. Each reflection opens a window. A window to the world I've just discovered. The world I want to share with all of you.

If I am a role model, I must be the worst one in the world.

I've never had a girl make a pass at me.

Togetherness, passion, laughter, faith, trust and jealousy are the essential ingredients of love.

The collar-bone is my favorite part of the human body.

If asking me whether sleeping with X or Y gives the media pleasure, then so be it. It's a small price to pay.

I don't think I would have become an actor if Kajol wasn't a part of my films and life. And I don't think I would have continued acting if Rani wasn't a part of films either. I think perhaps in seventeen years they sum up my career as the most beautiful career.

Rani has looked her career best in Paheli. For myself, Aziz and Juhi, Rani is the only leading lady for our production house. She is the best actress we have had in I'd say the last 16 years!

[Speaking to Rani Mukerji on a talk show] I've known from the time you started. I'm very fond of you... I love you! We've done different kinds of roles together. Chalte Chalte I think was very interesting. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was interesting because you'd just started out... Its wonderful to see you evolve as an actor over the years and personally I do believe that Rani Mukerji is the best actress in the country in the last 16 years. I think she's absolutely wonderful!

[In the making of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai] I've worked with a few new comers [Mahima Choudary, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukerji] recently and Rani is the best of the lot. She lights up the screen with her appearance, she's very very beautiful and extremely talented, it was a pleasure working with her.

Where Are They Now
